Who is behind Project DaD and how did it start?

The brains behind Project DaD belong to the Criddle family in North Yorkshire.

At Christmas 2003 the daughters, Laura and Emma, took it upon themselves to harangue and harass their father, David, about the injustice of their enjoying a Christmas with all the trimmings whilst there were children starving elsewhere in the world. David was in no position to either defend himself or move due to over indulgence. Like most fathers he knew when he was a beaten man and committed to starting the initiative that has developed quickly into Project DaD.

David realised that one of the most efficient and effective ways to grow the DaD network was through engaging the contacts from his consultancy business, Brunswick MCL. This said, the Criddle family, along with another family, the Braids, continue to be central to its development.
